Lake Shore Fire Department sincerely thanks all of you who donated to last year’s Annual Fund Drive. Your continuing financial support, in conjunction with the unselfish efforts of our ALL VOLUNTEER fire fighters and EMS personnel, enable us to provide you with emergency services protection second to none. We are proud of this…and you should be, too!

And to the 65% of you that did not donate last year please read on…

We are a non-tax based service that provides Fire, Water/Land Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to our community thus saving our residents hundreds of dollars a year in taxes. Last year the department answered approximately 600 calls, 21 volunteers provided about 12,000 service and training hours while equipment maintenance and insurance alone cost over $31,000.

Once again, we are asking you to support our Annual Fund Drive to enable us to continue to provide you with the level of care that you have come to expect. We ask that each resident donate 1/10^th of one percent of the value of their home. For example, if your home is valued at $80,000, we ask that you donate $80. If your home is valued at $225,000, we ask that you donate $225. We understand that some families cannot afford to donate this percentage. Nevertheless, we would appreciate a donation in any amount that your family can afford. And remember, every donation is tax deductible. It’s never too late to donate – donations are accepted throughout the year.

Last year approximately 35 % of residents donated to our annual appeal in spite of the fact that the department is committed to answering 100 % of your calls. Please don’t let us or your community down. As the cost of equipment and training rises we need your support more than ever so we can continue to focus on the important issues of protecting you and your family.

The officers and members of the Lake Shore Fire Department would again like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have supported us in the past and look forward to your continuing support this year. If you haven’t helped before, or are new to the district, we hope this will be the year you’ll be able to say, “I answered the call.”
