Lake Shore Fire Department sincerely thanks all of you who contributed to last year’s fund drive. Your donations, totaling almost $49,000, enabled us to purchase equipment, upgrade our facility, participate in training and maintain firefighting and EMS equipment vital to our community…all at no tax dollar cost to you. We continue to ask for your support this year if we are to remain a viable asset to the people we serve.

Over the past several years only about 35% of the residents in our district have donated to our annual fund drive. We understand that many families have serious budget constraints and we appreciate any help you can give…Thank you. On the other hand we are aware that many of our chronic non-donors live in luxury homes, drive luxury cars and demand luxury services. We ask those of you who don’t feel it necessary to participate in the fund drive to consider what it would be like to dial 911 and be told that there is nobody available to help. A VOLUNTEER fire department does not run on water alone. For example, our utilities, insurance and fuel costs alone are over $38,000 a year. We ask that you give this serious thought and contribute in any way you can to the 2011 Fund Drive. And remember, every donation is tax deductible. It’s never too late to donate – donations of any amount are accepted throughout the year.

Enclosed is a brochure that will give you an insight into our department and hopefully stimulate you into thinking about how you might contribute your time and talent as well.
